Start the Year right...with MUJI!

Okay, I admit...I am now a MUJI addict.

Second day in a row when I purchased stuff from this store (you will always find something you want to buy!). Surfed their website last night and there were a few items I missed the first time I was there yesterday.

Number one on my list was a modular drawer set for my wardrobe! I've been needing one of these for a long time and today is the day I got one! ^___^

With Hello Kitty atop my new modular set =^_^=

Of course, let's not forget the bath goodies.

hair bandeau and body scrubber

a couple of women's razors

bath soaps!

toothbrush and holder ^_^

travel module for my toiletries :)

Massage oil and toning water mist for the face. I plan to use the massage oil for the Tanaka facial massage.

Finally, it's time to try the culinary stuff! Matcha powder mix and a few pasta sauces.

Pepperonchino sauce on my farfalle pasta

Happy New Year, everyone!! ^___^

My MUJI Haul!

Okay, it's almost 2013 and it's best to start the new year right ^___^

I've recently discovered MUJI (after months of ignoring the store because I didn't find anything interesting to buy) because I bought some acrylic containers. I found their products to be of high quality and possessing elegance in simplicity. Call it a zen type thing.

One thing led to another and I visited their other branch. I was seduced by their Zakuro and Cherry liquid body soap...the scent was subtle but divine. I bought the "hand loofah" to go with it. The soap (despite looking runny) suds well and I love the way my skin felt after bathing. It rinses easily too. I love everything about this soap.

Today, I visited MUJI's new branch near my place and I'm glad I did!

Here are some of the items that I bought (I spent a little over $100, but I believe it was money well spent).

So far, I have tried the Cleansing Milk. This seems to have worked wonders on my skin. My pores looked instantly minimized and refreshed.

The Light Toning Water (for stressed skin) also works well. This is the second step after cleansing and I used Muji's large organic cotton pads to soak up my face with this liquid. I liked its mild scent.

Last step was the Moisture Milk. I applied it all over my face in small dots then spread it across my skin. This is something which I think should be applied only on the dry parts of my face (cheeks, chin) since my T-zone tends to get shiny. Overall, also mildly scented and easily absorbed.

My face felt refreshed after this cleansing, toning and moisturizing routine. :)

Some other stuff that I got which are worthwhile mentioning...

A facial massager...I suppose this can massage your cheeks and jowls. I think this will help improve blood circulation.

2-way brow pencil with powder and brush. Works pretty well and gives your brows a natural boost.
Moisturizing lipstick...I have chapped lips and this glided on smooth. Love the natural colour too.

After all the shopping I did this Christmas, I decided that my feet needs some pampering! Here's some Shea Butter Foot Cream with a lovely thick texture for my feet. :)

Happy Holidays, everyone! Share your Muji experiences as well!

Hello Kitty Christmas Town! =^_^=

I saw this awesome little Hello Kitty town display at the mall today. They're almost life-sized...it was great seeing these Hello Kitty characters :)

There were some merchandise on sale as well, and I got my paws on those before they ran out! =^_^=

Felt like a Louis Vuitton kinda day...

It's the day after Christmas and I felt like finally getting that LV item I've been hankering for the past few days.  Christmas is a wonderful time for giving gifts to our loved ones. It's also the best time to reward ourselves!

The boutique was closed yesterday so I sped as soon as I could before the store got packed full of people. I was looking for a small wallet to fit into my bag. I usually don't go for long wallets since they take up a lot of space. I was eyeing the Marie, Helene and Origami compact wallets but since the billfolds were all a bit short, I decided to go for something else....will do a quick reveal tomorrow!

Life's little pleasures

I have this to be thankful for this morning... I love life's little indulgences!

the Day before Christmas

So...I've been wanting...nay, craving for some new Louis Vuitton ever since I dropped by their boutique last week. It's the Christmas season and I haven't bought a gift for myself yet.

I've been hankering for an Eva clutch (now in all 3 designs!) and at the same time I've been wanting a cles in DA or Mono for as long as I can remember.

Thinking about it though, I realize that the Cles might not do it for me. The opening of either the Azur or Mono might be too small to fish out coins or cash. Currently, I'm using a card holder from Fino which works pretty well for me. But again, I'm itching for a Louis so I found myself watching Youtube videos on the MC card holder last night. I tried looking for a compact wallet at the LV website that allows me to store my bills without folding them, but to no avail. Probably this would be the secret compact wallet, but it's currently out of my price range. I considered the origami compact wallet but I think the bills still need to be folded. I already have the ZCP in MC and I have to fold my bills inside. I guess I have to try on the business card holder (I want the white MC!!) just to be sure. But that's another P16k!! Argh... I keep telling myself that this is another impulse purchase and I dont need another wallet (esp. since I'm eyeing the Eva). Or maybe I am just too bored and hang out at tPF too often so I have multiple LV cravings? haha...

Moving on, it's the day before Christmas and I'm enjoying a quiet Monday morning (for once!) watching the cats play outside. I still have to bring Ginger to the vet to be neutered and that has to be done before 2012 ends. I wonder if he's willing though? I do hope he doesn't put up a fight. Right now, he's chasing something in the grass...I wonder what it is?

Yesterday was shopping day.. I went with my brother and his gf to the mall (packed with last minute shoppers) so that I could do my groceries. I had missed out on doing my groceries for the past 3 weekends because I had been buying presents for my family and friends. I am soooo glad that I started Christmas shopping early this year... beats the crowds and the long queues!!

Anyway, the rice is almost cooked so I wil have ti check it out and have breakfast. My tummy is rumbling!

I remembered.

It's a long weekend, but I have some work to do tomorrow so I'm going to take it as a credit leave. For some reason, I like having time for myself and not worrying about certain things.

There's a lovely yellow full moon out tonight.

It reminds me of cheese.

When I was a kid, someone wrote that the moon was made of cheese.

It made me smile to remember that I knew that as a kid.

It feels great to reconnect to me, back when I was a child.

LVoe comes in many colors...

I got myself an early Christmas present.... unintentional, but welcome just the same :) I saw this beauty on eBay last week and I couldn't take my eyes off it... I though about it long and hard enough, as multicolore is my weakness!

Since I already have a mono pochette and use her pretty often, I decided to take the plunge and get the MC as well. She is in excellent condition and the patina is still light for a purse made in 2003. I think I got her for a good price too, as I got her for approximately $320.

Here she is!!

Saturday morning checkup and my beauty haul ^_~

Just got back from my checkup. I had to wait from 11am to nearly 2pm at the doctor's clinic!! O___O I really hate wasting time...good thing I brought a magazine with me to read.

I had my favorite Taosi Spareribs rice at Mr Choi's Kitchen....mmm!! I love it...the only thing missing was the Soy Milk I had ordered. It was prepared from scratch so the beans had just been boiled and was waiting to cool. Too bad I couldn't wait that long. I want my soy milk!

Afterwards, I dropped by Beauty Bar to check out some lip glosses (again). I bought Bloom's Lip Tint in what else....Tint! Yup, that's what the shade is called. It's a delicate pink that shows up on my acidic lips. Not too sheer like most tints so it's pretty good.

After getting this, I sauntered over to check out The Face Shop. They have this cheek stain which is similar to Body Shop's lip and cheek stain, only theirs is less red and more coral. I tried it on and it looked better on my complexion than Body Shop's. So into the cart it went. :)

The Long Weekend in Photos :)

Apple cinnamon iced tea....one of the best I've tried! My BF said it's like sipping french apple pie :)

Spicy lemon scampi...one of my weaknesses...I cannot resist!

I love shrimp! :)

Chorizo and olive pasta

Pretty green votive casting light on the intricate mosaic table

Grilled ensaymada with Laguna white cheese on top. One of my guilty pleasures.

Thai crab fried rice.

Thai milk tea

Pomelo Prawn salad. One of my faves :)

Green spicy curry..it really was spicy!

Saturday 3 November 2012

It's Saturday morning and I'm soooo lazy to do anything!

I'm supposed to have my hair trimmed and do some chores but the bed is beckoning me to stay...That, and I'm going out to watch Skyfall this afternoon.

Laziness extreme.

R.I.P. Blue Eyes...you will be missed.

Today is All Souls Day... it's declared a national holiday to commemorate our departed loved ones.

Blue Eyes, my little 8-month kitty passed on today after fighting a virus in his system for a week. The time I spent with him formed a special bond between us that I will never forget. He's such a sweet kitty, but I could see that he wanted to rest...and I hope that he is in a better place now. I'll never forget him, the moments we spent together and his sweetness. You will be missed, Bluey.

Review: Body America Toast to the Coast Ocean and Grapeseed Mist

I encountered this body mist while I was shopping at Rustan's this afternoon, looking for a birthday gift for my best friend. The packaging reminded me so much of her... the bottle has a 60s pinup girl on the label which is just so cute. I wasn't able to take a photo of the spray because I had it gift wrapped. The smell was surprisingly subdued which I find good because I dislike overpowering scents. It smells like grape without the sweetness. I was trying to decide between this one and the apple scented mist and this won me over because I thought that the apple was too sweet.

Thanksgiving for Today

Today I am thankful for a lot of things. Thankful for my excruciatingly long-awaited permit for the project I have been working on. It had been keeping me stressed for weeks so much so that I could hardly sleep at night and in the morning when I woke up, it would be the first thing I would worry about. It was a humbling experience, teaching me the value of time, and of treasuring the little things.

I am also thankful for the improving condition of Blue Eyes, my cat. I brought him back from the vet tonight and his fever has gone down, albeit he still has no appetite. He looks stronger and I try talking to him to try to coax him to eat. I keep him separate from my other cats right now, upon the vet's instruction. I realize that being a pet owner is a full-time responsibility. You can't expect them to be okay all the time. I wish that was the case though.

I am also thankful for the extra day of rest I get this weekend (it is a long weekend) so I will use tomorrow to care for kitty, do some laundry and get extra sleep. I think I do need a long weekend, after all. I guess it is all a matter of perspective.

Friday 26 October 2012

I was finally able to bring my blue-eyed kitty to the vet this afternoon. I tried getting her to go with me this morning but she didn't want to come along.

The vet said he had a really high fever (40 degrees) so it would be best to confine him there. He was given antibiotics and a shot to make the fever go down. He was also put on dextrose so that he could receive some nourishment. Everytime I tried to feed him catfood with vitamins, he didn't find the appetite for it and just tried to drink some water.

I hope he gets better.

Tony Moly Petite Bunny Gloss Bar #04

Good afternoon, folks!

Last night, I decided to purchase a tinted lip gloss that has decidedly enough tint to look natural and at the same time give colour to my pale face. I decided to head over to Tony Moly because I've tried some of their products before which I liked.

This was the first one to catch my eye as I looked at the shelf of lippies. It's called Petite Bunny Gloss Bar and comes in a kawaii package ...very cute indeed! But if that isn't enough, it actually works well too! It has enough tint to give full coverage on my lips.

My lips are usually chapped too but this moisturizes pretty well. I would also say that it seems to have lasting power. Pretty good deal for an inexpensive price. This retails at approx. $5.95 here. Not bad!

My rating: 5/5 stars.
Pros: Good pigmented color, inexpensive, cute packaging, moisturizing, what more can you ask for! :)
Cons: Can't really think of any!

Sunday morning. The best time of the week.

Weekends are always the best days of the week.

Sunday mornings in particular.

Nothing beats the absence of traffic noise in the morning, so much so that you can actually hear yourself think and have time to enjoy the little things. I can enjoy listening to random everyday things (right now the whirring of the fan relaxes me as I type this). It is actually lulling me to sleep.

Breakfast is the meal of the day that I skip the most during weekdays but would love every minute of if I had the time to enjoy it. To truly relish my weekend, my boyfriend and I had breakfast at a nearby pastry place very reminiscent of a cozy bed and breakfast. I had some bacon and eggs and we had some biscuits with homemade strawberry jam and butter. The warm biscuits blended with the sweetness so very well in my mouth. I don't think I shall ever forget that sensation.

We dropped by a bookstore afterwards to look around. I love little adventures. Randomness is always welcome. :)
